We’re just one month away from the BET world premiere of the newest faith-based docu-series to hit our screens. The Sheards, which chronicles the day in and day out circumstances of one of gospel music’s most beloved families including Karen Clark Sheard (of the legendary Grammy Award-winning group The Clark Sisters), her husband and pastor Bishop J. Drew Sheard, recent Albertina Walker Female Artists of the Year Stellar Award winner Kierra Sheard and her younger brother J. Drew Sheard II (a talented songwriter, musician and Kierra’s primary producer).
The BET series comes on the heels of a string of already successful reality TV shows centered around families and top gospel acts such as The Braxtons on Braxton Family Values and multi-Grammy Award-winning sister duo Mary Mary, both airing on WeTV.
The Sheards expects to present a realistic view of the family that tries hard to maintain their family business (a record label owned and operated by Karen Clark Sheard and her husband) as well their individual careers, aspirations and their heavy involvement in their local Detroit-based church Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ.
Get your first sneak peek at the series’ premiere of season one which began circulating just hours ago and make sure you plan to tune in right after the 2013 BET Celebration of Gospel airs on Sunday, April 7th at 10PM EST.
